What's a mobile top-up?
A mobile top-up or recharge is the process of adding balance to a prepaid phone number. This balance can be used to make calls, access the internet, and send text messages, depending on the subscription they have with their telecom provider.
Mobile top-ups have different meanings in different countries. You may know it as mobile recharge, airtime top-up, mobile load, balance, refill, minutes, or credit.
Can I send a top-up to someone else?
Yes, you can send credit to your own phone number or recharge someone else's number. All you need to know is their mobile number, the country and their operator. You can review the steps on how to send a top-up here.
Are top-ups applied directly to the phone number?
Most operators apply the credit directly to the phone balance. However, some operators deliver the credit via a PIN code, which the receiver must manually redeem by following the provided instructions. The credit will only be applied to the phone once the PIN has been redeemed.
If your selected operator delivers the credit through a PIN, you'll see a notification in the order summary before the payment is made.
